The Yosemite firefall has been a tradition since 1872 that ended abruptly when the creater was evicted, but was it for better or worse? The firefall may have been a great thing to watch, but dangers were present in the red and orange flame said as they cascaded down Glacier Point. With these fires going down the mountain, there was an ever present danger of embers being carried by the wind and creating a wildfire that could have left devastating results. When it began again, it was quickly banned the park, for the safety of the people and the wildlife that resides in this national treasure. The ban on the Yesemite Firefall May have ended something beautiful, but it helps to preserve the beauty that is present in the park so that people could come and feel at peace with themselves and nature.

Yosemite's optical illusion of the firefall is something definitely out of the ordinary. By the sun creating the glare on Horse Shoe falls, tourist and residents who catch it at the right moment will see the illusion of burning lava traveling down the mountains face at incredible speeds. This wonder of nature is more than likely to bring tourist and scientist from all over to experience this once in a life time opportunity. However, the waterfall does pose some threats. Not only will it become more and more dangerous to be close to it because of the immense amount of people, the more people who come to the park, the more pollution and rubbish is to be found alongside the waterfall. And as everyone interested in the well being of the environment knows, that is not what Yosemite needs.

The spectacle of Yosemite's Fire Fall has been a tradition for many years since James McCauley decided to throw smoldering embers from a fire from the edge of the cliff in 1872. This tradition of the spectacle has however brought a huge, passionate debate with it. The debate, however, is a rational one because it is debating whether or not the spectacle should be allowed or if it shouldn't be allowed due to the harms it could bring to the audience and to the environment of the park. For example, the fire itself can cause a wildfire to occur in the Yosemite Park which would leave tons of animals homeless. Not only does this affect the animals and their habitat but it affects us with the chance that the wildfire may extend to other places burning down houses and leaving the workers at the park with no obligation to perform. However this year the people are unsure whether or not the Fire Fall will occur due to weather reasons, but scientifically the Fire Falls may be what is causing the weather to change abruptly. This is because of embers still burning while somebody shoves them down the cliff forming the repercussion of leaving smoke in the air essentially becoming part of the greenhouse effect. Then leading to global warming which we all know doesn't just make icebergs melt and temperatures rise in heat, but it also makes the temperature and weather itself unsteady.
