I think this article is interesting, because just looking at him I probably wouldn't jump to the conclusion that he would be a poet. It is also refreshing to hear that all the players on the team aren't just a bunch of meat heads.

Hunter Pence has always been one of my favorite baseball players. The fact that he is not just a regular player who only plays to earn money, but he uses his status to help others. This article is both uplifting and a tad funny much like Hunter. I do know for a fact that during a game, there were service members on the field, and Hunter was the only player to go out and shake hands with every single service member and thank them.

Hunter Pence is clearly one of the most intelligent players in baseball and this just adds to that. Pence is economically sound, he rides a scooter to the game, but does so many things that make him one of the greatest people in sports. Pence's leadership also translates to being successful. Both the Phillies and Giants have reaped the reward of having Pence as a leader on there team. In a time where so many athletes only care about money and glory Pence is thoughtful, writes poetry with his great intelligence, and really cares about people
