Comment on your new year so far, and all the new possibilities out there for us to set our eyes, hopes, and dreams upon!
I did not get a chance to post in January (what happened to THAT month?) but here are the two links I shared with you connected to Kevin Olusola's Celloboxing version of Auld Lang Syne and it's all about the VORTEX (no rotation!). Comment on your new year so far, and all the new possibilities out there for us to set our eyes, hopes, and dreams upon! Here is one more link to a video that I am just adding because it has a longer and more complete version of Auld Lang Syne with both Scottish and English lyrics, as written by Robert Burns, the Scottish poet. It's quite a lovely version.

When you showed my class the video of Kevin's amazingly well done performance, I was quite thrilled. Not only am I familiar with Kevin and his work, I am also a HUGE fan. I'm not sure how much you know about him, but he is incredibly talented. His seemingly infinite talents include playing the cello and saxophone, beat boxing, singing, and writing/producing songs. He's even fluent in Mandarin! The way I discovered this California-born prodigy was through a rather popular a capella group named Pentatonix. I would highly suggest to anyone and everyone to go and check them out and listen to a few of their songs, and prepare to be amazed.

Thank you, Dakota, for this information. I did not know much about Kevin Olusola prior to seeing his post, but found more of his videos, along with the Pentatonix videos, as I looked at those connected to his. I love a cappella and much of what they do is an effort to recognize other musical genres and artists, so it's great fun.
