Farewell, Cassini
NYTimes: Cassini's Grand Finale
Looking back at my post from April 2017, I noted that the 20 year mission of the Cassini exploratory spacecraft was coming to an end. That end arrived on Friday, and as I shared with students that day, some of the scientists present to hear its final signal and view the last photos taken had worked on this mission for the entire 20 years. Here are some links to consider and celebrate the accomplishments of those scientists.

The news about Cassini is sad but rewarding. Many people have thought is spacecraft as a living thing, but it's just a space craft completeing its mission. I get that the workers have put everything in to this space craft and it can be emotional when it finally comes to an end. I'm hoping that the Cassini Mission will educate and encourage resurchers and other people to continue to build and launch more space crafts into space. Cassini will go down in history, and everyone will know about its great mission.
