Just saw this. February is traditionally Black History Month, so I guess that this could be in honor of that, but mostly it is in honor of human perserverance in the face of adversity. Read more about Ronald E. McNair here and elsewhere.

What an interesting video! I loved that they named the library after him in the end. The librarian never would have guessed what the boy would accomplish.

How amazing it is to know that there were still people who saw no difference between "colored" and white people. It is also great to know that this boy did not care what others told him, he simply believed that he could do anything he set his mind to, and he did accomplish his dreams. His life may have ended in a very tragic way, but he persevered through years of hardship and that is all that truly matters.
